London Gateway
The London Array Wind Farm, within the Thames Estuary, has been given the go-ahead to become the Thames Gateway’s coastal green energy project. When complete in 2015, the Array will consist of 341 turbines and will develop enough energy for 750,000 homes, which equates to approximately every home in the Thames Gateway.
In addition, the London Array will provide opportunities for businesses located in the Thames Gateway – and wider South East region – to work on the site either erecting the turbines or supplying ongoing maintenance to the wind farm.
