Kent Thameside
The Bridge, a £400 million regeneration project in the heart of the Thames Gateway, is now home to one of UK-wide supermarket Sainbury’s logistics hubs to set new standards for subsequent developments in the Thames Gateway.
Sainsbury’s at The Bridge in Dartford
UK-wide supermarket chain, Sainsbury’s, has made a 672,000 sq.ft. shed – the largest in Europe – home to one of its logistics operations. Located at The Bridge in Dartford at the heart of the Thames Gateway, the shed was developed by ProLogis and is let to Sainsbury’s for a remaining term of just over 18 years.
J Sainsbury plc consists of Sainsbury's – a chain of 502 supermarkets and 290 convenience stores – and Sainsbury's Bank. Sainsbury's Supermarkets is the UK's longest standing major food retailing chain, having opened its first store in 1869. The Sainsbury's brand is built upon a heritage of providing customers with healthy, safe, fresh and tasty food. Quality and fair prices go hand-in-hand with a responsible approach to business. Sainsbury’s stores have a particular emphasis on fresh food and we strive to innovate continuously and improve products in line with customer needs.
Serving over 18 million customers a week and having a market share of around 16 per cent, Sainsbury’s stores offer around 30,000 products and also offer complementary non-food products and services in many of stores. An internet-based home delivery shopping service is also available to 88 per cent of UK households.
