Medway
Universities at Medway (UaM), is an innovative partnership between the universities of Greenwich, Kent and Canterbury Christ Church, along with Mid-Kent College. The four institutions share a new campus at Chatham Maritime, working together to respond to the educational and training needs of Medway and the Thames Gateway.
The Medway University Campus
With a comprehensive media studies curriculum, the Medway University Campus of the Universities at Medway (UaM) is set to transform education in the Thames Gateway. The campus supports the area’s vast economic regeneration and has a substantial impact on the local economy, generating approximately £10 million of additional expenditure each year.
Medway Campus in Chatham Maritime, in the Thames Gateway, has benefited from £50 million in investment since 1996. Recent developments include extensive new laboratories and research facilities, a restaurant with computer access, and new halls of residence. The campus has over 4,000 students. studying engineering, pharmacy (in a joint School with the University of Kent) and science. The Natural Resources Institute is also based on campus. (117 words).
Medway – 24 Hour Company
The 24 Hour Company, is a US company which specialises in graphics and media for companies in the Government and Defence sectors. The organisation has recently moved to its new facilities in the Medway Innovation Centre in Rochester, in the middle of the Thames Gateway. The deciding factor to move to the Thames Gateway was its locations dedication to providing support and space for like-minded companies and the sites access to transport links to London and Europe.
