Kent Science Resource Centre
The Kent Science Resource Centre (KSRC) is a training centre for science based at Kent Science Park (KSP) in Sittingbourne with a focus on the delivery of technical skills and knowledge. The KSRC focuses principally on the Biotech and Healthcare sectors but works with related industry Resource Centres when required.
The Resource Centre is based at KSP to enable close links with industry (SME’s to Multinationals).
The centre forms part of the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) network of sector based resource centres. The centre is run by the International Institute of Biotechnology (IIB) and the Sittingbourne Enterprise Hub Ltd (SEHL).
The centre offers a foundation degree in life science laboratory technology and bio-manufacturing with Mid Kent College, as well as short courses in biology, chemistry, laboratory skills and microbiology.
- Specialist areas include: The facility can be used by any training provider(s) to deliver courses, particularly to support the BioPharm Industry.
- Centre of excellence: This is a major project brought together with a partnership between SEEDA, Swale Forward, Kent Science Park and the Kent Science Resource Centre steering group members from industry, schools, higher education and further education.
- The KSRC will provide a facility for CPD courses and an opportunity for science students to experience a modern day industry focused laboratory facility.
