Invest Thames Gateway

Invest Thames Gateway is the lead international inward investment agency for The Thames Gateway.  Its aim is to market the Thames Gateway’s un-paralleled sector expertise and clusters of investment opportunity and is the first, single point of contact for new and potential investors.

The Thames Gateway is one of the UK’s priority hubs for growth and has the committed support of the Government as well as a large number of private investors.  The region stretches 40 miles along the iconic River Thames from London's foremost financial centre, Canary Wharf,  through the Thames river ports of Thurrock, Medway and Sheerness, as far as Southend in South Essex and Sittingbourne in North Kent

With its position, it has unique access to the London market and is an important factor in the growth and success of the major global businesses that invest there.

The Thames Gateway region is recognised as an innovative logistical and transport gateway for the UK, providing smart, rapid connections to London, international markets and the rest of the UK. It is home to the UK’s first “Eco-Region”, a pioneering initiative designed to encourage sustainability and efficiency for the 21st Century. The Thames Gateway is also a hub for the environmental technologies sector and houses the Sustainable Industries Park which will contain the UK’s highest concentration of environmental technology companies.  

The London Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012 also provide fresh business opportunities and benefits to London and The Thames Gateway and create a catalyst for huge expansion and investment as well as enhanced capacity for large scale co-investment that results from public backing combined with private and institutional investment.

Invest Thames Gateway is a collaboration between the London Development Agency, the South East England Development Agency and the East of England Development Agency; the three Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) within the Thames Gateway and is core funded by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
