PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
Train
The nearest rail stations to Nucleus are Dartford or Greenhithe, of these Dartford has the better service. Services to Dartford from London run approximately every 15 mins and connect to London Bridge, Waterloo East/Charing Cross or Victoria. Journey times vary between 30 and 50 mins depending on route.
Fastrack Bus
Both stations are served by the Thames Gateway’s excellent Fastrack bus service. The A Route runs from both stations through the Bridge development, and has a stop 20 yards from our front door. Signs at both stations will direct you to the Fastrack terminus. Buses run approximately every 5/10 mins. Please be aware, however, that you must purchase a ticket from the machine at the stop before you board, as you cannot buy a ticket once on the bus – and unhelpfully you will require the correct change more often than not. Currently a single ticket is £1.60, a return £2.60.
Taxi
There is a taxi rank outside Dartford Station which is signposted from the ticket office, and there is normally a number of taxi’s waiting during the day. Allow about 10 mins for the journey, and it will cost around £5. The reception at the Nucleus can arrange for a taxi to collect you for your return journey.
ROAD
If coming from North/Essex:
Keep to left on QE2 bridge and leave M25 at first junction after toll booths: Junction 1a Signpost A206, and follow directions for Erith. Follow directions to the A206 Erith and cross back over above M25. Ignore the sign at the first roundabout confusingly signposted “the Bridge”, and instead follow directions to “Bridge Community Science Park”. At second Roundabout take 2nd exit and enter Bridge estate – you will now seethe nucleus (a large grey/red building to your left). At next roundabout take first exit and then first right into car park.
If coming from South/Kent:
Leave motorway at Junction 1a Signpost A206, and follow directions for Erith.
Follow signpost A206 Erith – keep left on slip and follow filter lane round the roundabout. At the first roundabout take 2nd exit to “Bridge Community Science Park” and enter Bridge estate – you will now see the Nucleus (a large grey office building to your left). At next roundabout take first exit and then first right into car park.
Important note for Satnav users:
Because we are on a new development, most Satnav systems don’t yet accept our postcode as a destination. Therefore I suggest you enter the postcode: DA1 5PP. This will take you to the Sewage treatment plant behind us but in doing so you will drive right past our front door – so keep an eye out for the Nucleus as you enter the estate.
